Using the latest advances in signal processing and speaker technology, Ecotones creates audio backgrounds that are so vivid and realistic you'll forget it's in the room.  Ecotones SoundStories^TMare based on audio cues in your listening space combined with hundreds of natural sounds.  The result is always fresh and alive - never mechanical or repetitive.

Ecotones' specially designed speaker pair and tuned sound chamber produce a full range (90 - 20,000 Hz) of crisp, transparent audio.  A headphone jack enables private listening as well as connection to an external stereo or audio amplifier.  An adjustable sleep timer is also included.

Our SoundStory developers are not only talented artists and engineers, but also audio experts with an ear for harmony and relaxing sound combinations.  They have recorded and combined hundreds of audio segments using the latest in digital techniques.  The result is ultra high-fidelity sound (18-bit, 44,100 samples/second) exceeding the quality of standard CD files.

Listens and Adapts to your Environment

Ecotones can be used in any of three modes:

Adaptive - The Adaptive Mode is the most effective mode for masking irritating noises.  In this mode, Ecotones listens to the sounds around you and tailors its response to blend the noise into a tranquil SoundStory. 

Background - The Background Mode generates a pleasant background atmosphere as the sound level in your surroundings drops.  In this mode, Ecotones reduces its volume in response to a telephone ringing or to the sound of conversation and resumes normal volume as the room becomes quiet. 

Manual - The Manual Mode lets you select a constant volume level.  In this mode, Ecotones listens to the sounds around you and creates an ever changing SoundStory at a fixed volume. 

Patented Technology

Ecotones is based upon ASTI's patented technology.  It uses advanced digital signal processing techniques to analyze background sound and dynamically generate user-selected SoundStories.  The ASTI Adaptive Sound Processors use powerful 32-bit technology to rapidly execute complex algorithm needed to respond to background sounds within a tenth of a second.
