I thought this machine would mask more sounds. It doesn't mask the noise (doors shutting in another room of my home, footsteps in the kitchen while I'm trying to sleep in another room) I was hoping to mask more sounds with a white noise machine. I need a machine that is louder.

This is my second sleepmate and my husband and I swear by it! It's not loud or disruptive, but gentle and natural. I bought this one for when one of us travels, so neither of us has to do without. Have had this machine for about a month and I love it! I honestly didn't have much trouble sleeping at night [neither did my wife] but have heard others talk about the "miracles" of white noise machines. So I decided to research white noise machines online. I research different products of white noise machines and also sellers. I wanted the "top of the line" sound machine. This lead me to the Marpac company. I personally like the DS product the best. I price-shopped the internet and Sound Therapy World was the best buy [and they included a free CD. Cool, right?]
Do your research too. Then you will be back HERE to buy one. Then back again to buy another for a different room/location or as a gift.

i love this sound machine. no digital looping or anything... just perfect, quality white noise. i'm sleeping so much better at night now and i wake up refreshed. and i can't believe how quickly my order was received. faster than w/ amazon or ebay or anywhere else i've ever ordered online. thank you so much.

I am very satisfied with this machine. I used to also use a fan and it always dried my mouth and nose out. Now I do not have that problem and I can use this all year long. The fan always made my room cold in the winter. Very good product and has a lot better sound then the electronic noise makers. Shipping was quick, believe I received it within 3 days.
